A nice quiet visit to Lemsford Springs today gave me a nice bit of birding with zero crowds and a bonus year tick with the four Green Sandpipers feeding in the water beds. Also noted were Little Egrets, Grey Wagtail and Siskins but it wasn't about the quantity it was about the peace and quiet provided by this cracking local nature reserve where for a while I was the only person on site and this peaked at four as three guys arrived just as I left.

The Entrance |
Entrance can be gained by visiting the wardens house next to these gates where a key can be taken from the open porch (there are envelopes provided for a small donation to be left ) and the key also provides access to the hides.
