White Necked Blackbird finally drops in

For a week or so I've been seeing a Blackbird in the area with a distinct white neck ring but every time it comes close the local Blackbird chases it off until this morning he finally dropped in for a bite of apple and I managed to grab a quick grainy shot of him.
He's a smart looking bird!

Hope he stays around for a while.

ps..we've nicknamed him the Vicar

  9. We just saw one today on the south coast at Kimmeridge, Dorset, sitting on the ground, looking for food of some sort; was wary but let us come quite close before flying (quite heavily / clumsily) into the bushes. Very distinctive white collar around the back of the neck, orange beak. Fascinating! Never seen one before, but couldn't find it in my bird book!

  17. Pretty sure I saw one today in my back garden (south coast, Hampshire, UK). Grabbed my camera and long lens and just as I got back to the window a Wood Pigeon scared it away. I'll keep an eye open...
