Great Spotted Cuckoo at Giltar point in Pembrokeshire


note to self: "Don't be ridiculous it's only a bird, think about how many birds you could see locally instead of being trapped in the car for eight hours.......and it'll cost a small fortune and it may not be there".

    Still there today although only seen once this morning so perhaps it's decided to move on and save me the continued dilemma.

    The Great Spotted Cuckoo has now been reported as "picked up dead by a greenkeeper yesterday afternoon" All very sad

    Dead bird now identified as a Magpie so the Cuckoo's demise seems to be erroneous. Long live the Cuckoo!

    Cuckoo seen again today on occasion but seems less settled. TEN DAYS NOW and I've managed to resist the attraction.
    Wonderful bird but I think I'm destined not to catch up with this one.

    The bird is still there .......perhaps it will get comfortable and wait there for me to visit in May????
